Rev. James Andrew Brownlee accepted his call into ministry on March 25, 2012. He preached his initial sermon on April 8, 2012 at Flat Rock A.M.E. Church, Antreville, SC under the leadership of Rev. Wayman Coleman, III. His topic was “There’s A Battle for your Mind, “ and Scripture text was Philippians 4:8. He received his license to preach on April 10, 2012 from Rev. Samuel McPherson, Presiding Elder of the Abbeville/Greenwood District of the A.M.E. Church. He was asked by Rev. Judy M. Richardson, Presiding Elder of the Greenville District of the AME Church to be Supply Pastor of Greater Trinity/First A.M.E. Church, Spartanburg, SC from June 24, 2012 through October 4, 2015. He was ordained as an Itinerant Deacon on October 10, 2015 at Allen Temple A.M.E. Church, Greenville, SC. He received his first Appointment as Pastor of Bethlehem A.M.E. Church, Belton, SC under Bishop Richard Franklin Norris. He is still serving as Pastor of Bethlehem A.M.E. Church, Belton, SC.

He is the son of Wallace and Joann Brownlee. He was born in Abbeville, SC on April 22, 1965. He resides in Ware Shoals, SC where he is married to his wife Beverly Bowie Brownlee. They have two children, twins, Jamelle and Jatrese Brownlee. The Pastor has three brothers, Wallace, Jr., Odell, and William Brownlee and one sister, Dorothy Brownlee. He works as a City Letter Carrier at the Greenwood Post Office, Greenwood, SC since January, 2001.
